In a 24 hour news cycle, there is a breaking story about the Trump administration every single day. Because of the constant stream of news, people forget the major events of the past week. Some of the most shocking blunders of President Donald Trump’s presidency have been forgotten due to the distractions caused by his family, staff and incoherent late night tweets.
Grab them by the P*ssy
Almost everyone in the developed world listened to the infamous tape of then candidate for president, Donald Trump, speaking with E! News reporter, Billy Bush, in 2005. The two were speaking in an RV, while Trump was unaware he was still being recorded. He could clearly be heard saying, “I moved on her like a b*tch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married. I did try and f*ck her. She was married. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p*ssy. You can do anything.” Regardless of the horrific terms used by President Trump and the uproar the tape caused, he still made it all the way to the White House.
While most Trump supporters defend every publicized personal action of President Donald Trump, his cabinet picks were difficult to stand up for. The biggest shock was perhaps Education Secretary Betsy Devos’ confirmation hearing. It was revealed since 1989, Devos’ family contributed over 20 million dollars to Republican candidates, superpacs, and GOP candidates. This combined with her lack of experience and unclear answers to questions asked during her confirmation hearing made her nomination extremely suspicious. Students all over the country were in shock at who had been put in charge of their education.
Almost everyone has forgotten about Trump University except perhaps the students that were defrauded by the university. The University offered non-accredited classes on real estate, asset management and entrepreneurship without giving grades, degrees or actual college credit. The fraudulent actions of Trump University became public knowledge in 2013 when the New York General Attorney’s Office launched an investigation into the University. Many students filed lawsuits against Trump University, which were settled for approximately 25 million dollars after Donald Trump was elected President.
This major news story was buried underneath so many other scandals that no one even remembers the name Andrew Tesoro today. Manhattan architect, Andrew Tesoro, was hired to design the clubhouse for the Trump National Golf Club in New York. He was told to constantly redesign, resulting in an excess of work worth $140,000. When the clubhouse was built, Tesoro was only paid $25,000 out of the initial offer of $50,000. Tesoro shared his story and was invited to the Presidential debates by democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. When asked about the incident he said, “Although I resent that he shorted me a huge amount of money, his organization does that to everybody. At the time I could see that the carpenters, the tile guy, the landscape consultant, the mechanical engineering consultant, other vendors and tradespeople were all subjected to an after-the-fact renegotiation challenge. I didn’t take it personally.”
