Assistant football coach Aaron Feis hailed as a hero, was among those killed during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Wednesday, officials confirmed Thursday.
Feis was shot after throwing himself in front of students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., according to news reports. The football team announced Feis’s death on Twitter early Thursday morning, writing that he “died a hero” and “will forever be in our hearts and memories.”
Police have said that at least 17 people were killed and more than a dozen were wounded in Wednesday’s shooting in Parkland, Florida.
