Welcome to the first day of spring, also known as Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen.
DQ is giving away free small vanilla ice cream cones to customers at participating restaurants all day Tuesday. The offer is limited to one per person and not available at mall locations.
“Silky smooth DQ soft serve is truly one of life’s simple pleasures. Our cone with the curl on top is one of the most recognized treats in the world and that signature curl is a DQ quality test we take tremendous pride in,” Dairy Queen executive VP Maria Hokanson said in a release. “There’s a reason DQ soft serve tastes so delicious and special. From cow to cone, dairy farmers and local operators take tremendous pride in bringing smiles to millions of fans’ faces through our creamy DQ soft serve.”
Dairy Queen hopes those smiles translates into donations for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals such as University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and Akron Children’s Hospital. After collecting $300,000 nationwide during Free Cone Day last March, DQ is looking to top that figure this year.
Donations are encouraged, but aren’t required to collect the free cone.
